PP report

Social media and the Arab spring

On30th of May2013 I showed up for my presentation. It took place in F16 classroom. It was a sunny day and I was prepared for it as usually. I was early as possible so I can get ready for it, and I can show everyone including my instructor how series I am. 1510 I started to introduce myself as I should. I was not panic at all, I normally try to smile and be confidence as much as I can. My presentation was about Social media and the Arab spring. I was cleared as possible as I can. I have given some real examples of what I am talking about. Arab spring was a big step for some country such as Egypt,Tounsia etc.

Mr. Hedley was my instructor during this presentation. He was in full attention and was asking questions during my presentation which I am happy with, rather than asking me at the end of my presentation. Faisal was the second student who was asking me a lot about my subject. I was so glad that most of the students know about the Arab spring. My presentation was included with some real pictures showing how effective it was. Twitter was the common use in that spring. People were gathering in selected location by broadcasting it in twitter. Facebook was also on of the second part of that spring.

Conclusion: To present anything you should be aware of what you will talk about. Expect unexpected questions so you can answer it very clearly. Be confidence and do not panic as much as you can. Be specific of you subject and finally keep practicing and say when you are ready only when you are.

Presentation Report Assignment

Abdulrahman Saeed H00254759 showed up for his presentation about money laundering. The presentation was given in F16 on Monday 29th April 2013 at 15:00 in HCTAD.

He was on time as usual, never late. Mr. Hedley came to the classroom and he was happy to see his student was good to go for it. He proceeded to introduce himself. His PowerPoint slides were very clear and easy to understand. He did not use big sentences as some do. He was not nervous at all.He was smiling all the time and was moving around the class room rather than standing in a boring corner.

His presentation was very attractive because of his preparation; he was well organized, on the other hand his body language was just great. He described in a clear way what money laundering is. His voice was at the top level and any one could hear it. My favorite part was his real pictures in his job. I really believe, he projected a great deal of confidence due to his obvious preparation resulting in a very well executed delivery.

Abdulrahman did an excellent job by presenting his work step by step. He was showing some reall pictures when he was signing a memo random of understanding in Colombia for example. He was trying not to be disturbed by leaving audience questions till the end, because he knows what he is doing and was aware of their questions.

Finally, the audience were very happy to start firing their questions to the presenter and the shock was, believe it or not, Abdulrahman was not fed up at all, he was answering the all questions with happiness and confidence.

My conclusion, Abdulrahman was a very good example as presenter and I wish every start to any type of project would be like him; if I were his instructor I would be giving him A.

Personal reflection about the meeting

I showed up to the meeting that was by 3 students of CLV in Room F16 on Monday 18th March 2013 at 1500. Abdulrahman Al Zaabi, H00254759, as chairman, started the meeting by introducing everyone in the meeting. He was discussing the parking issues at the Abu Dhabi Men's College. The participants were: Faisal Al Hosani  S960003762; he was discussing with  Abdulrahman the issue. I Salem Ali, H00213881 , was the secretary. My job basically was to write the minutes  and the outcome of the meeting. Minutes should record the action taken at the meeting, as well as what was said by the members. The minutes should never reflect the secretary's opinion on anything said or done.  The body of the minutes should contain a separate paragraph for each subject discussed and acted upon.

Faisal AL Hosani started with some suggestion such as using an idea of first come first served. He started with steps, from easy to hard solutions. We were there for almost half a hour. Abdulrahman Al Zaabi started and closed the meeting in a very organized way.

Square table & 3 chairs.

A4 white paper for notes.

Agenda: Identify the traffic & car parking problems to find suitable solutions.

1- Using an idea of first come first served.

2-Opportunity for investments

3-Long term solution.

By going through the items of the agenda we will establish not just possible solutions but solutions which we feel will be viable.  We will discuss how we are going to solve the issue theoretically and practically by introducing ideas such as using the idea of first come first serve. By the conclusion of this meeting, we should have in place sufficient agreed proposals to make recommendations.

The problem:

v  Mr. Abdulrahman received many complains regarding the car parking listed as follows:

·        Both morning and afternoon students complained of lack space.

·        Many students raised the issue of incorrect parking.

·        One of the afternoon students complained with regard to blocking the entrance by some careless drivers.

v  Solutions:

·        Divided into 2 solutions:

A.      Short term and fast action.

§  Fast, easy and NO cost.

-                      Clarified by first come first served. The earliest you come the better parking spot you get. The later you come the harder it is to find a parking space.

-                      A daily appearance of a policepetrol to enforce the traffic regulations and to implement the traffic rules or they also can fine the offenders.

B.      Long term business opportunity:

1.      Rent half of the parking area to a valet parking company for either monthly or annual rent.

2.      Building a malty floors parking building by two options:

-                      Ministry of High Education as sponsor by increasing the budget.

-                      Students as shareholders of the project with annual bonus.

v  Recommendations:

1-                 A letter with the proposal to the Ministry of Higher Education to sponsor the parking building or to approve the shareholding idea.

2-                 In case of rejection from the Ministry of Higher Education a new meeting will be held on 2-4-2013 to discuss the status.

Two boys were arguing when the teacher entered the room.
The teacher says, “Why are you arguing?”
One boy answers, “We found a ten dollor bill and decided to give it to whoever tells the biggest lie.”
“You should be ashamed of yourselves,” said the teacher, “When I was your age I didn’t even know what a lie was.”
The boys gave the ten dollars to the teacher.

Criminals Joke

A man who was just about to be executed was asked whether he would like to have a last smoke.
The man answered, "No thank you, I don't smoke. I don't want to get lung cancer."

It's all in the punctuation

An English professor wrote the words, "Woman without her man is nothing" on the blackboard and directed his students to punctuate it correctly.
The men wrote: "Woman, without her man, is nothing."
The women wrote: "Woman: Without her, man is nothing."
